Kelly Sears joined the Ullman Sails team in Fall of 2022. He started his sailmaking career in 2008 at a superyacht manufacturing loft; having finished some of the largest & most technical sails currently sailing in today’s waters.

A few notable highlights: Kelly was invited to join Oracle Team USA in San Francisco during the final weeks leading up to the 34th America’s Cup. In 2015 he spent the sailing season repairing sails in the Caribbean at a superyacht service loft.

Kelly learned to sail in his early years aboard his uncle’s 40ft sloop along the western coast of Florida in the Gulf of Mexico.  During the summer of 2010 he completed a 62-day trans-Atlantic crossing aboard a 31ft Catalina from St. Petersburg, FL to Portsmouth, England, making landfall in Bahamas, Bermuda, & the Azores along the way. Kelly also spent many summers cruising the beautiful blue waters of Lake Tahoe.
